I tend to write from the heart.
That way, I can make a genuine art.
A piece that is different
From what seems to be apparent.
A piece that warrants itself to be apart.
A piece that is unique and not on par.
A piece that will leave a mark.
But I’m not sure if I’ve done that part.
Making a lasting poem isn’t a walk in the park.
It’s hard to touch people’s hearts in this day and age.
An era where absurdity is entertained.
A generation where everybody pretends.
Pretend that we’re not trapped in a cage.
Our society has shackled our humanity.
Robbed of us our vision and blinded us from unity.
Now, we thrive on hate and discrimination.
We unconsciously feed on those negative actions.
It’s time to open our eyes and break the chain.
It’s time to fix what’s wrong and remove the bane.
It’s time to treat the wound and pain.
It’s time for all of us to be one again.
Let’s change our fate and stop the hate.
